Summer Vacation

Well, the month of July has been very busy for us. We spent a week in Ogden, UT visiting Eric's brother's family the first week of the month. Then towards the end of the month we traveled to Florence, OR to camp for a week with Becky's family. Camping was fun and sunny, but cold. I guess we're used to the hot summers over here in Idaho. Didn't take any pictures when we were camping but got some video. Once we get that downloaded to the computer, we'll attempt to get it up on the website.

Katelin had a ball both places. She's growing up so fast. Not saying lots of words (she says "Hi" all the time), but jabbers constantly. She's apparently got a lot to say. She'll be a good big sister...little sister is due in about 4 weeks.

Here are some cute pics of Katelin. The bottom ones are of her in her new toddler chair. She sits in it and watches "Elmo's World." She is addicted to "Elmo's World," and she'd sit and watch it all day long if I let her!

Vacation 2008

Just got back from a week vacation in Eden, UT (near Ogden). Had a great time. Eric's brother, wife and 2 yr old daughter Izzie came to visit from SLC for a few days. Katelin and Izzie had a blast playing together...at least when they weren't stealing eachother's toys! :)

Visit to Tillamook

Katelin and i recently took a trip to Tillamook to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday. It was a lot of fun and Katelin had a ball playing with her cousins. She has many cousins her age on my side of the family.

Happy Birthday Katelin

Katelin's first birthday was on April 18th. An update on her at that time: she is walking around like a pro and occasionally runs; she is still sleeping through the night anywhere between 9-11 hours at night; and takes a nice long nap in the middle of the day (about 3 hours).

One year ago!

Well its hard to believe that Katelin will be a year old in a couple days. Its even harder to believe how much our lives have changed in just a year. This time one year ago, Eric was still teaching, Becky was still working, and sleeping in on the weekends was still a common occurance! Here's how we looked one year ago.

I am happy to report that at 4 1/2 months pregnant, I weigh the same as I did when I GOT pregnant with Katelin. Hopefully that trend continues!

Visit to Oregon...Katelin 11 Months

Just got back from visiting Grandma and Grandpa Spencer in Tillamook, and Katelin had a blast. She got to see all her cousins and her friend Landon. Up until today, she was a "scaredycat" as far as taking steps on her own. Well, I think she got the idea by watching all her 2 and 3 year old cousins that walking is the way to go! Today after church, she took 4 steps on her own and every few hours we'd try again and she'd take another couple steps. I'm sure by Friday, she'll be running around the house!

Springtime is almost here!

We are so excited for spring to come. Its been a very cold and snowy winter, which means lots of time couped up inside the house. Katelin loves being outside and we've ventured out on the deck for our few 50+ degree weather days, but there have only been a couple. We're anxious for winter to be over.

Bathtime for Katelin!

A quick update on the Norton family...this past month has brought a few changes in our household. We found out we are expecting our 2nd baby...due September 7th. And no, it wasn't an accident! New baby and Katelin will be about 17 months apart.

Katelin decided about a week ago she didn't want to nurse anymore, and for a baby that wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with a bottle or formula, she is now fully weaned and drinks from a bottle like a pro. I was flabergasted! Some may say she takes after me in that we don't really know what to expect from her!

She is also so close to walking on her own. She tries so hard to stand on her own, and she walks along everything she can grab ahold to. I'm sure it will only a couple more weeks now. She will be 10 months old on the 18th and is growing waaaaaay to quickly. She is such a silly little girl. She loves to play with her toys and talk to them and, I think, telling them stories. She also is a GREAT sleeper. We've got her trained now to go to sleep on her own and she sleep usually between 11-12 hours a night straight through. She's just about to the point where she only takes one nap a day (which I'm not looking forward to...I enjoy the quiet time!).
